if anyone asks, anastasia melnikov had no life before mp found her in russia. she wasn't from new york and she certainly didn't come to russia hoping for a new start. that's a lie, but it's a lie that you can be certain she wears out of necessity. truth be told, she had a life, a son and a daughter, and while she preferred to flutter around the us, it wasn't a bad life. after a while though, things went sour and well, if you ask her now where they are, you better be prepared to have a fist in your face or to die a painful death. anastasia- known as just cat now serves as mp's stand-in of sorts. chances are, if you haven't met her personally when dealing with the circuit, you've met cat instead. her duties consist of networking when mp can't and just generally making sure you realize that the circuit is here to stay. while she hasn't been part of mp's personal retinue for as long as alyosha, she's up there and the rule of thumb is, you fuck with her and you might not see the light of day again. but hey, there will be a nice increase in cat's power, so you're welcome to try. just don't say she didn't warn you with a smile and a laugh. after all, her secondary nickname isn't maneater for nothing.
